de Kock

part of the human universe

antarchi's picture

His world was a cold world, where eyes of death stared accusingly at him, a world littered with corpses and graves - graves of the unknown dead, dismembered or blown-up bodies. But for all the horrific singularity of his acts, de Kock was a desperate soul seeking to affirm to himself that he was still part of the human universe.

They haunt. They haunt.

"I see those faces today still. The shock, the fear, the desperation - the look of: This is it! I see those faces. Day - and night. They haunt. They haunt..."

you can forget about forgetting

antarchi's picture

"Look, you can do what you want, there is no way that you can erase it," he said about the ever-present images of death. "They may not be alive but they are there. They are there in the day, they are there in the morning. They are there at night when the sun sets. You can forget about forgetting - it's like a daily call card"
